I think of God speaking to Cain, where He told him that "the blood of your brother cries from the ground". Our country's soil is drenched in the blood of the innocent lives God created: life formed in His own image. How can one who loves God not cry out at the wiping out of that image? Thru heartaches, disappointments,
pain, God has never left me. When I have let other things and
situations take all my attention, when I have allowed His enemy to
use me to grieve Him, yet He has always forgiven me and taken me
back into His arms, let me cry the tears He made provision for,
that I need not to have come to. Time after time I have taken His
care for granted...to my hurt. He knows my heart, the intentions of
my heart, the foolishness in me, yet He does not forget or abandon
me, He has not betrayed me or ridiculed or embarrassed me. His love
endures forever, His mercy endures forever. I so totally do not
deserve this kind of love! And I know it. And the pain of letting
Him down grieves me so much! Father forgive me! The world throws it
up in our faces, and His enemy loves it, spurs it. But God already
knows who the attacks origionate from. He takes a dim view of the
accusations leveled at His children. It is His business and it is
for Him to take care of. How happy would we be if a stranger came
to asssault our children or correct them? We are loved because
He chooses to love us forever. We know in ourselves there
is nothing worthy of that love. Still He loves us, as only He can.
Not without acknowledging our sins and calling us to count for
them, not without chastening us. But by covering us with the blood
of Jesus Christ, the only sacrifice for us good enough to cover us
so that we are fit to be seen by His perfect and just eyes. I hope
everyone that reads this has that same asssurance and hope. I hope
you all know Him, not just know about Him. So you will love Him as
He deserves! In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...and the
Word became flesh and walked this earth with us in the form of the
only begotten Son of God. John 1:1-2.
