James Charles Birdsong Jr. is without a doubt a emerging leader. He one of the latest voices in arts and entertainment. The 28-year-old is an aspiring gospel artist and songwriter who has written the screenplay, You Can't Unring the Bell and plans to make his debut on the soundtrack album of this major motion picture. He is a licensed and ordained minister who has a desire to serve as pastor of a church. He is a motivational speaker that encourages men, women and children of all ages and nationalities to pursue their dreams in life. He is a humanitarian that strongly believes in the importance of contributions to the community. For more than five years, James has been commended by politicians, dignitaries and his peers as a positive role model in the lives of today's youth. He was born on May 16, 1980 in Richmond, California to the union of the late Rev. James C. Birdsong Sr., who departed this life in 1997, and Belinda Germany-Birdsong. She proudly serves as her son's manager in the industry. With his family ties in the Birdsong family, James is the cousin to R&B legend Cindy Birdsong, a former member of the 1960s R&B female groups, the Bluebells and the Supremes, R&B/funk musician Edwin Birdsong, who is best known for his single, Cola Bottle Baby and collaborated with various artists from Roy Ayers to longtime family friend, Stevie Wonder and most recently, mult-platinum Grammy award winning artists Kanye West and Erykah Badu, and retired NBA pro basketball player, Otis Birdsong. James indeed has a testimony and he is not afraid to share it. He experiences a miracle in his life at the young age of three. James is considered as a miracle baby and his parents were told by the doctors their son would never speak. James could not talk like children normally would speak at three years of age. He was born with a speech impairment and fine motors delays. Rev. and Mrs. Birdsong had faith in God their son was going to be healed. After much prayer, James was healed from his speech impairment and for fifteen years of his life, he attended public schools as a special education student. He graduated with honors from Fairfield High School in Fairfield, California on June 12, 1998. While James was attending high school, he was considered by his classmates as "the pastor." He wrote his first book, One Marriage, Many Tales, And a Separation: A Message of Hope at fourteen years of age. The Bible based inspirational autobiography was first published in 2000 by 1st Books Library (now called Author House) and the book received many positive reviews in various areas of the United States. The book is in the process of being revised and re-published. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades from organizations to politicians for his dedication to today's youth and the gospel music industry. James also have two older brothers and four nieces. His story does not end here, it will continue to write another chapter.
