Hi, my name is Carlos. Im a follower of Christ and it always wasnt like that. God saved my life and im in debt to him forever. And i really mean saved! One day I hope to share my testimony with the world. I grew up in a very rough part of town in NYC. Growing up was really good because kids dont really know its a bad part of town they just want to play in the park like myself. My family was always there and i was lucky enough to have both parents raise me. As a young man growing up in the Bronx i was never afraid of anything because i had seen it all. I had friends that went to prison. I even had friends like my best friend Tony get murdered and thrown off a 21 story building. On June 10, 1990 while i was hanging out with my friend eggie something bad happened. It was 2:30am when we were in front of my old building and a gunman stormed out the stairwell. He said this is a stick-up and give me all your money. We complied and gave him all our money. As we tried to walk away he shot me 5 times and shot my friend twice. We were rushed to the hospital and we almost lost our life that day. While in the hospital all i wanted was revenge. One week had passed and thats when the complications started. I had what they call a bowel obstruction that was getting worst each day. They were going to operate on me again a second time. My friend Ricardo who was a new born again christian had asked if he could pray for me. So of course i wasnt going to say no. He prayed and I didnt really think it was going to change anything. The next day i knew that i was going to the operating room so I prayed that night alone for the first time. I didnt know who i was talking to but i directed it to jesus. I told him that if he would save my life and heal me that i would follow him. I didnt think this was about to change my life. The next day I was on the operating table and was waiting a long time. the doctors were looking at xrays they took earlier. The kept coming in and asking me if i still had pain. I said no. And i didn't realize that i was feeling a little better. The nurse walk in and said Carlos were cleaning you up and theres no operation today. the doctors are going up to your room to talk to you in a bit. I waited up in my room and it felt like hours. Finally when they came i had about 10 doctors in my room. He told me exactly this...."Carlos if you had a bowel obstruction i dont understand but its gone" I was like what.... He said this sounds crazy but if you had a bowel obstruction its gone. I felt every hair on my body stand. That same year i was Baptized as a born again christian and my life was changed. Im not the same person i used to be. I have two sisters and a brother and My parents. I hope one day my testimony can change a persons life or make them aware that God has control of everything. To the guy that shot me. I forgive you and hope one day to praise god together. Anyone reading this please have my parents in your prayers. I care for them now.
