I
think these online "let me talk about myself and tell the world
everything about ME" sites are altars of vanity. In
the words of George Elliot, "Blessed is the man who, having nothing
to say, abstains from giving us wordy evidence of the fact".
Besides, my life is way too boring to anyone else other than me
(and my cat!) to waste my time, and yours, talking about it. But in
the spirit of meeting new people and "connecting" I'll throw out a
few tidbits about myself anyway. Here's to wordy evidence of
nothingness!
I recently did the Myspace
thing out of curiosity when I came across an add for this site. I
decided I would have signifcantly more in common with people here
than the subculture of myspacies.
I reside in what I consider
to be a "ghetto-fabulous" small town not too far from
Philly. But I hail Lancaster County (Amish
Country PA baby!) as my hometown. I work in a
"ghetto-fabulous" hospital saving lives. Well not
really. My job title is Sonographer, not to be
confused with Stenographer - the person that sits and types in
court all day. Also known as ultrasound technologist, I
work in Radiology imaging various aspects of the body. My job is
very challenging but hugely rewarding. And
occasionally I help save a life :)
Ok, some of my
interest: the usuals: reading,movies,anything outdoors,friends, and
yes of course, my cat, who I am a bit overly attached to
Music interests:
Currently rediscovering my appreciation for classical
music. Recently attended the symphony with my little
brother to hear Schumann and Tchaikovsky. Typically
enjoy Indie/alternative - Death Cab, The Shins, Frou Frou. Always
enjoy Coldplay and U2 has the honors of all time fav
band.
I am an avid reader:
Currently reading "Stolen Voices: Young People's War Diaries From
World 1 to Iraq". Recently read two of the best books I've ever
picked up, The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns. Everyone
should read them. Also recently read Infidel, an autobiography by
Ayann Hirsi Ali. If you don't know who she is, you should google
her. VERY fascinating life story. And all time fav book is of
course Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice
In the movie
category...Looking forward to The Kite Runner coming out on film in
December. I love all types of movies. Some of my favorites (this
list could get lengthy)...Pride and Prejudice, Lord of the Rings
Trilogy, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Run
