It occurred to me one evening while chatting with my husband that there are three key powers in our democratic republic: the People, the Government, and the Corporation. As can often be found when reflecting on history, there is a pattern of the interactions between these three powers. I believe that the majority of Americans are ready to believe in our country, our democratic republic, and in themselves again to do what is righteous and just. I believe that my generation (the mysterious X) is ready to awaken from their slumber, return from their self-imposed exile, and raise their voices to become known and to be counted, despite our smaller numbers, and join in the chorus that resounds with the sweet melody of hope.
